How to Make Stunning Snowflakes for Your Artificial Christmas Wreaths and Garlands

With this being said, what about attaching snowflakes to your artificial Christmas wreaths and garlands? This is a great option for those who may be using a winter theme throughout their tree and the rest of their home. What makes this even easier is that you can make these snowflakes at home…probably with some materials that you already have on hand.

So, how can you make snowflakes to add into your artificial Christmas wreaths and garlands? Here is what you will need:

  • spring-type clothespins, taken apart
  • white craft paint
  • glitter
  • glue – hot clue is going to work great for this
  • burlap twine

To start making these, you are going to pull the clothespin apart to remove the spring. Once these are all pulled apart, then paint these white with the craft paint that you have. You could try to spray paint these if the weather permits for you to be outside and will dry in time. Once the paint is dry, you are going to take the flat sides of the clothespin and clue these together to make one arm of your snowflake.  Repeat this process for each arm of the snowflake. Once the arms are ready, you can then take the burlap thread, make a loop and attach this to the back of the snowflake so that you can easily hang this onto your artificial Christmas wreaths and garlands.

You can take a little dab of Elmer’s glue and brush this onto the tips of the snowflake arms, then dust some silver glitter onto this to make these sparkle. You can opt for any color of glitter and any color of snowflake that you want. The beauty of making this yourself is that you can make these whatever colors that you want to fit in with the rest of your decor. Imagine white snowflakes with red glitter tips? Or even black snowflakes with a silver glitter tip? It is all about doing what you want to do.

So, what do you think? How would your artificial Christmas wreaths and garlands look if they had homemade snowflakes hanging throughout them? You will find that it will add a dash of color to these items, but it allows you to show your personality throughout the home with your Christmas DIY crafts. With this super easy outline to do, anyone can do complete these and have something that looks amazing!
